Summary The aim of TeleSupport is to enhance the exchange of information and knowledge between farmers and community groups, intermediary organisations, networks and researchers in order to respond to local needs. This is done by providing more effective communication channels and promoting the adoption of sustainable agricultural and natural resource management practices. It is expected that this will lead to improved livelihoods for people in rural communities, whilst at the same time protecting the natural resource base on which they depend. TeleSupport has adopted certain guiding principles which govern the activities undertaken by participating organisations and individuals. These activities should be environmentally sound, socially just, culturally sensitive, and economically viable. Particular emphasis is placed on promoting equal opportunities for men and women.

Participants in TeleSupport are committed to sharing public domain information which can be used by interested parties for non-commercial purposes. Where this is known, the original source of the information is acknowledged. Every effort is made to ensure the quality of information and to keep it up-to-date.
