Summary Seed exchange mela is a village festival performed by the local communities, especially by the women .The mela is a post harvest festival. It provides a local platform for exchanging seeds, plants and information. The mela aims at conserving, and spreading of traditional and good quality seeds, and exchanging and generating information. It is also is a means of brining social harmony as the whole village participate irrespective of class ,caste , gender.
