Summary AME Foundation promotes ecological agriculture among small and marginal farmers in the semi arid areas of the Deccan Plateau (India) by generating farming alternatives, enriching farmers knowledge, linking development agencies and sharing experience.
Description  AME works as a resource organization. With farmers, NGOs, CBOs and government agencies, it seeks to organize development interventions for systematic utilization of available knowledge and research initiatives for generating affordable new alternatives. It actively builds linkages with like-minded development actors in the area, to facilitate a rapid spread of proven ideas and practices.

AME engages itself in capacity building by way of training events, Participatory Technology Development processes, Farmerís Field Schools and stakeholders concerted action platforms. It also undertakes documentation and dissemination of useful knowledge and experience. AME, over the last few years, has become accepted as a useful promoter of sustainable agriculture by biomass actors like farming communities, NGO fraternity and government agencies.
AME is made up of persons specialised in natural resource management, integrated farming systems, LEISA technologies, gender and equity issues, social development, information systems, documentation and dissemination.
Thus, AME is working as an active voluntary organization, pursuing ecological agriculture in the context of Deccan Plateau and building the required institutional collaboration and convergence. Towards this end, it is evolving itself as an institution of integrity and professionalism, functioning as a resource organization, and performing a catalytic and facilitative role.
