This section deals with the diversity of services that are provided by telecentres. Examples will be given of services provided by telecentres in Africa and other parts of the world. Some of these services deal with the provision of locally relevant content, often consisting of community development information on agriculture, health, education etc, at present predominantly collected, developed, (re-)packaged and disseminated by NGOs and community-based organizations.

It will be clear that all services mentioned and described in this section will not be provided by a single telecentre. The range of services that a telecentre can provide, will depend on the socio-economic context, needs of the local community, the technical requirements for the service, required skills of telecentre staff and clients, and feasibility of the service in the financial model (for-profit, not-for-profit, public sector, social enterprise) used by the telecentre.
