MoMEALS” Mobile Phone Service

UgaBYTES-East Africa and CTA-Netherlands aim to launch “MoMEALS” mobile phone information service in order to help local Ugandan farmers get better access to real-time, accurate, and relevant market data, and connections with fellow farmers and market access points across the country. The system will be designed and implemented by UgaBYTES staff in Uganda, and funded by CTA - Netherlands. 10 international development partners that have been supporting UgaBYTES will also be updated about the progress of the project in order to tap into their advice on issues that may complicate the project. Looping them into the project also means bettering experience and lesson usage into phase II of the program that may see the program implemented at national or regional level in the second phase – thus requiring increased funding from other funding agencies other than CTA alone.
