|| The Technical Cooperation (TC) Department shares and applies FAOs technical knowledge at the country level in response to the expressed needs of developing countries. It implements and coordinates FAO's field activities in close cooperation with FAO technical departments and decentralized offices, as well as member countries and FAO's development partners particularly donors, UN agencies, financing institutions, regional economic organizations and non-governmental organizations.
The Department also manages and mobilizes resources for emergency rehabilitation and development programmes and is responsible for promoting greater investment in agriculture. It assists member countries in the formulation and implementation of policies and strategies, serves as a facilitator for development projects and provides funding from the FAO core budget for projects that address urgent problems. TC also houses the Special Programme for Food Security and is responsible for delivery of emergency relief and rehabilitation.
